Michigan's summer tourism season is here, and there’s hope that the industry will continue to rebound from the pandemic. Dustin Dwyer visited the Michigan’s Adventure roller coaster park in Muskegon.

One hundred million visitors per year, about 20 billion dollars in spending – that’s the economic impact of the tourism industry here in Michigan according to the state. That industry has been hurt by the pandemic. But now the sounds of tourism are back.

Laure Bollenbach has worked 27 years here at Michigan’s Adventure. She’s seen a lot of ups and downs. “But the last two summers weren’t quite as fun, so hopefully this year will be a lot more fun,” she says.

Michigan’s Adventure officially opened to the public this weekend. It’s one of many Michigan businesses hoping to see a lot of tourists this year.
