A West Michigan manufacturer of medical device and injectable medicines components is making a major investment in its Walker location.

West Pharmaceuticals Services Incorporated and its subsidiary West Contract Manufacturing is making a $6 million investment at its Walker location.

The expansion at 3116 N. Wilson Ct. NW supports production of what one of the leading global manufacturers describes as “the design and production of technologically advanced containment and delivery services and solutions for injectable medicines.” Think syringes, vials, and other medical device components.

Its customers include biologic, generic, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies. The multimillion-dollar capital investment is expected to create 110 jobs.

West Contract Manufacturing received assistance from regional economic development organization, The Right Place.

“West has played an integral role in our local medical device manufacturing industry, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth in our community as they create high-tech, quality jobs,” President and CEO Randy Thelen said.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is supporting the project with a $500,000 Michigan Development Program performance-based grant.
