The Oakland County Prosecutor is offering her reasons for charging the alleged Oxford High School shooter as an adult.
Speaking on WDET’s Detroit Today, Karen McDonald says she has reviewed other juvenile lifer cases, the amount of premeditation in this attack separates it from others committed by other teenagers.
She said “The reason and the justification for that is brain development with regard to impulsivity this at this point is not like any of the juvenile lifer cases that we've reviewed or I even know about”
McDonald says Michigan needs more gun laws to hold firearm owners accountable. The Prosecutor has charged the parents of the alleged shooter with involuntary manslaughter for not keeping the gun used in the crime away from their 15-year-old son.
