Vice President Kamala Harris is postponing a visit to Detroit originally set for Monday.
White House officials made the announcement after severe flooding drenched Detroit in recent days.
Harris planned to visit Detroit as part of a national campaign encouraging grassroots efforts to promote the ease and effectiveness of vaccinations against COVID-19.
She’s targeting areas with low vaccination rates.
Only about a third of Detroiters have received a COVID vaccine.
And while more than 60 percent of Michigan residents statewide have been inoculated, less than a third of those between the ages of 12 and 29 have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
