One of the alleged accomplices in the plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer has gained some more freedoms Wednesday as he awaits his next court appearance.

The pretrial hearing for the men accused of supporting the alleged plot against the Governor was originally set for December last year, but it's been postponed because of the pandemic.

Eric Molitor is one of five men accused of participating in a surveillance trip of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s vacation home in Antrim Country.

He has been on house arrest since making bail in January.

His lawyer argued Molitor was a passive member of the group and should have his restrictions lifted so he can provide for his family.

The judge eliminated the curfew requirement but kept his GPS tether in place.

Most of the other men facing similar charges have had their bail conditions reduced while they await their in-person court appearances.
