After a long year, Michiganders can now visit their loved ones in prison again, starting today [FRI].

Idalis Pagan has two uncles in the system.

She describes them as practically her older brothers.

"I was just really super psyched, especially knowing that they really haven't seen anyone," said Pagan. "Like, I thought I like it was bad living from you know working from home. But no, like, they see no one."

Her mother and grandmother were especially hit by anxiety due to the uncertainty in the past year.

"They were in shambles, I tell you," Pagan says.

Visitors will need to adhere to a list of precautions, including taking a rapid COVID test before entering a facility. And they'll be allowed to hug their loved one two times during the visit.
