The City of Detroit hopes to vaccinate 18-hundred residents against COVID-19 at the TCF Center by Friday.
The vaccine is available to residents over the age of 75, their 65-year-old neighbors who drive them, and teachers.
89-year-old Eastsider Marilyn Robinson arrived at the Center with a bejeweled snowflake mask on. Robinson says she’s not nervous about getting the vaccine.
“Well, I think not getting it is more dangerous, really," said Robinson. "It’s either that or I’m gonna die and I’m not ready yet.”
The city hopes to administer about 20-thousand doses over the next four weeks. People looking to get the shot need to schedule an appointment over the phone.
