House Democratic Leader Donna Lasinski says she’s afraid of what would have to happen in order to get a full firearm ban enacted at the Capitol.

Lasinski says what she’s fearful of is that there will have to be the next terrible thing before we take the action of banning weapons of any kind from our capital.

“We need to make sure that people don't feel threatened, harassed or intimidated, and that we don't give domestic terrorists unfettered access to the people's house where we're trying to do the important work of getting through this COVID pandemic. I have written a letter to Speaker Wentworth directly requesting that those 18 members who signed on to the letter be disciplined and centered up to not being seated on the 101st legislature floor.”

“We need to make sure that people don't feel threatened, harassed or intimidated, and that we don't give domestic terrorists unfettered access to the people's house where we're trying to do the important work of getting through this COVID pandemic.”

Lasinski says her Republican colleagues who pushed to have the President election in Michigan changed in favor of Donald Trump only added to the hysteria surrounding the election and violent response at the Capitol in Washington D.C. in the legislature, who tried to overturn the results of the Presidential election, should be punished and Those absolutely influenced the types of threatening and disrespectful language that we have coming into our office and capital and the increased security concerns.
