Ingham County Health Officer dosen't expect to see Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine soon

People in Ingham County shouldn’t expect to receive Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine any time soon.

Linda Vail is the Ingham County health officer. She says although Moderna’s vaccine is now being used in some mid-Michigan counties, she expects continued use of the Pfizer vaccine in the area.

She says this has to do with the logistics of providing people with their second doses of the vaccine.

“Right now, you know, with the need to get vaccine’s across the state, and limitations in the allocations of both vaccines, we’re just gonna stay with the Pfizer vaccine for the foreseeable future.”

Vail says most people in the state should expect to be vaccinated in about 3 to 5 months.
