Democratic representative loses committee posts over threatening video

https://housedems.com/cynthia-johnson/about/

Democratic state Representative Cynthia Johnson has been punished by House Republican leaders for a Facebook video. They say the Detroit Democrat appears to threaten supporters of President Donald Trump.

Johnson herself faced death threats and harassment following a committee hearing last week where she leveled fierce criticism against Trump’s personal attorney, Rudolph Giuliani.

The short but rambling three minute-10 second post appeared on her Facebook page Wednesday. It’s not clear exactly what Johnson means when she issues her “warning” to you Trumpers. Be careful. Walk lightly.” As well as: “And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right. Be in order.  Make them pay.”

House Republican leaders called Johnson’s comments “unacceptable and un-American.” They say Johnson may be sanctioned further depending on the results of an inquiry into her behavior.

Johnson could not be reached for comment.
