Governor Gretchen Whitmer was in Traverse City today one day after the FBI stopped a plan to kidnap her.

Whitmer was in TC to knock on doors for Dan O’Neil a democrat running for the state house.

She briefly commented on the kidnapping plan saying the past 24-hours have been hard but she and her family are fine.

“I don’t plan to change any of my aggressive calendar," said O’Neil. "I’ve got a job to do being the governor and helping to ensure that I’ve got some great allies in the legislature.”

Whitmer said she’s campaigning across the state to try to get democratic control of the state legislature.

She also attacked President Trump for a series of tweets he wrote Thursday criticizing her.
