The city of Lansing continues to roll out ballot drop-off locations for the November election.

City Clerk Chris Swope held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday to unveil the new dropbox at the Alfreda Schmidt Community Center in south Lansing. In all, there will be 15 drop boxes around Lansing. Swope says 91% of city residents are within a mile and a half of a dropbox.

“We decided to go with all four of the community centers and all six of the fire stations and then once we did that, we looked for gaps and found the southeast portion of the city still had some pretty big gaps," says Swope.

To provide more locations on the southeast side of Lansing, there will be drop boxes at the Capital Area Transportation Authority office and the Mt. Hope cemetery office. The CATA Transportation Center downtown is another location.

Swope says ballots will be collected daily, and perhaps more than once a day as Election Day approaches.
