Water Main Break Postpones Klages Sentencing

The sentencing of former Michigan State University gymnastics coach Kathy Klages is on hold after a water main burst outside a Lansing courthouse.

Klages was a former colleague of convicted serial molester Larry Nassar, now imprisoned for sexually abusing hundreds of girls and young women.  She was convicted of lying to police about not remembering a 1997 conversation in which two of Nassar’s victims told her of their abuse.  Klages was due to be sentenced in Ingham County Wednesday until a broken water line forced the courthouse to close for the day.

A new sentencing date has not been set.  Klages was convicted on one felony and one misdemeanor count.  She could face up to four years in prison.
