Grand Rapids transit system, The Rapid, is taking measures to keep buses running and fight the spread of coronavirus.

The Rapid is implementing recommendations from the Kent County Health Department and Centers for Disease Control minimizing exposure to riders and employees. Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting is being implemented on all vehicles and at facilities. The Rapid is conducting nightly steam cleaning of buses including approved antiseptic agents applied to surfaces. Disinfecting is also taking place during peak service hours at the Rapids Central Station and Kentwood Station.

Still, The Rapid is discouraging al non-essential travel.
