If you haven’t registered to vote, you still have time .. in fact you can do it Tuesday before you walk into the booth to vote.
The March Primary is the first presidential election where voters can register to vote the same day they cast their ballot.
Traverse City clerk, Benjamin Marentette, said same day voter registration helps to make civic engagement a one-stop shop.
“They can go to their local clerk, up to and including election day and register to vote, and then actually even cast a ballot in their local clerk's office.”
Marentette said to complete same day registration you need something that shows proof of residency. He said a driver’s license, a state I.D. card, or a utility bill is all you need to get registered.
