State Representative Larry Inman was in Federal Court today.
He’s charged with soliciting a bribe, extortion, and lying to the FBI.
During the pre-trial hearing, attorneys argued over who has jurisdiction over the case.
Inman’s attorney says it’s a state issue and should be handled in a lower court.
But U-S Attorneys say he broke federal law and they want the case.
Judge Robert Jonker said he’s leaning towards keeping the trial in federal court.
But he told both sides to file briefs to make their case in the coming weeks - then he’ll make a final decision.
In the meantime, Inman says he plans on returning to work for the State House in the fall.
