Paul Mitchell announces exit from Congress

United States Congress

Republican Congressman Paul Mitchell says he will not seek re-election next year.  He represents Michigan’s 10th District.

The Dryden Republican made the announcement on the floor of the U-S House Wesnday telling legislators that his family has to become more of a priority.

“George Washington is quoted as saying, ‘I would rather be on my farm…than Emperor of the world.’  As a result, I have decided I will not seek to continue to represent Michigan’s 10th Congressional District next term.  After serving out the remainder of the 116th Congress, I will return to my family and to our small farm.  Thank you. I yield back.”

Mitchell was first elected to Congress in 2016. Before taking office, he was the CEO of Ross Education.
