It may be weeks before we know if ex-MSU president Lou Anna Simon will go to trial in connection with the Larry Nassar case.

After closing statements, Eaton County Judge Julie Reincke allowed more time for review of transcripts and arguments.

Prosecutors say Simon lied about when she knew about Nassar’s sexual abuse during an interview with Michigan State police. But her attorney Lee Silver maintains Simon is innocent.

“There’s no evidence that supports these charges and I honestly believe this is a witchhunt and a terrible miscarriage of justice.”

In January 2018, Simon stepped down as MSU’s president.
