State officials are welcoming Metro Detroit drivers back to work after the Fourth of July holiday,with miles of orange barrels.
More than two-dozen road construction projects get underway in the metro region Monday.
Michigan Transportation Department officials say there will be 30 construction project, to be exact, sprouting along roads and highways in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties.
They include work affecting ramps on I-75 in stretches of Oakland County, plus a lane closure in Wayne County…ramp and service drive work on I-94 by French Road with lanes closed at Second Avenue and US-24…and lanes blocked on I-696 from Coolidge to Woodward.
Construction’s also cropping up at various points on the Lodge Freeway, Grand River Avenue, M-24 and Telegraph in Oakland County, Hall Road, Van Dyke and 23 Mile in Macomb County, and Ford Road in Wayne County.
State officials predict most of the work should be done by the end of the month.
