The Michigan Wolverines continue an im-probable run through the N-C-double-A’s College World Series tournament Monday.

The best-of-three national championship finals features one of college baseball’s top-rated teams, against one making its first appearance in more than three decades.

The Vanderbilt Commodores earned the college baseball national title in 2014…came in second in 2015…and are riding a hot streak right now…winning 33 of their last 36 games.

Vanderbilt could have the best hitters in the college game – pummeling teams with home runs – and using a gritty ninth inning comeback to advance to the national title series.

The Michigan Wolverines are known more for football and basketball than baseball. The last time the university won a national baseball title, John F. Kennedy was president.

But this year’s team has revitalized the program, relying on strong pitching and timely hits.

The Wolverines have scored most of their runs during the tournament with only one out left in an inning.
