Police search for suspect as a shooting victim recovers in the hospital

The police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who broke into a home and shot one of its residents in Isabella County.

The victim said she recognized two voices during the incident. A male resident of the home reportedly awoke and found a man in the house, after which a fight broke out and a gun went off. Only one man was seen, and police are currently trying to confirm if there was a second.

The suspect is identified as Kenneth Maddux. Police say he is believed to be in the area of the Isabella - Midland County Line south of M-20.

Investigators say Maddux could be in an orange or red t-shirt and blue jeans. If seen, you are asked to not make contact and call 911.
