Governor Whitmer announced a statewide milestone in a press release May 3. Michigan has distributed seven-million vaccines.
The governor said 50% of Michiganders have now had at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine bringing the state closer to its goal of having 70% of Michiganders 16 and up inoculated.
The announcement comes after a significant decrease in COVID cases. The highest daily case count last month was 7,078 on April 5th. By comparison, only 105 new cases were reported on May 4.
