Mid Michigan is experiencing the downside of spring weather.
Officials said over a dozen counties are being affected by floods resulting in unsafe road conditions.
Mark Craft is the engineer manager for the Gratiot County Road Commission. He said the rain combined with melting snow resulted in road closures.
“If I had to take a guess, some of those will still be closed probably until tomorrow.”
Officials say the warm weather started to melt ice and snow and today there are flood warnings in more than a dozen counties including Midland, Saginaw, and Isabella
“As of this morning, probably have over a dozen roads that were closed and probably eight that had water over the road.”
Craft said there were more roads affected this year than last but the water is receding well.
Some roads are expected to remain closed until tomorrow.
