The National Labor Relations Board has issued a complaint against UP Health System-Marquette for what it claims are unfair labor practices.
Nurses say they were threatened and intimidated before they went on a two-day strike to protest staffing levels last October.
Stephanie DePetro is the chief grievance steward for the Marquette RN Staff Council. She says the incidents were serious enough to report to the Board.
“We did our due diligence in investigating each claim, and we felt that they were significant enough—and the NLRB also found they were significant enough—to bring charges forward.”
Hospital officials say the allegations have no merit and there was no wrongdoing.
A hearing in front of an administrative law judge will be held July 24 in Marquette Federal Court.
