A mid-Michigan business incubator and accelerator has named its Entrepreneur of the Year. This year, the recognition is going to a gentleman who has incorporated artificial intelligence into healthcare.

Often when a person goes to the doctor or ER, they provide reams of data. Researchers say typically about 30 percent is used to help health professionals provide care.

The new artificial intelligence technology, it’s called Fourth IR, analyzes large data sets so health professionals can make more informed decisions about patient health.

Erin Strang is President and CEO of CMURC. She said Dave Dittenber is the man behind the technology.

“Technology and his company have really advanced dramatically as we’ve been working with him over the last year, and so when we look at the number of factors that we take into consideration between the financials, the job creation, the future potential that the entrepreneur has, Dave Dittenber really came to the forefront.”

Strang said this is the seventh year the CMURC has named an Entrepreneur of the Year.
