MidMichigan Health to construct $57M cardiovascular center in Midland

MidMichigan Health

MidMichigan Health in Midland will begin construction this fall on a $57 million update, including a new heart center.

The expansion will also include updating labs and diagnostic areas.

Diane Postler-Slattery is the CEO of MidMichigan Health.

“Heart disease in currently the leading cause of death in men and women, both regionally and you know across the entire United States, so MidMichigan Health wants to be well positioned to help manage cardiac and vascular disease.”

She said the new center will have everything a patient might need in one place. Right now, there are more than ten locations a patient might have to drive to.

“So if you're a patient, you're wanting to receive treatment, there's a possibility you could be asked to go to several different locations in order for you to complete all the cardiac services that are needed for you.”

Postler-Slattery said part of the funding will come from operations, and another portion from donations.

In the interest of disclosure, MidMichigan Health is an underwriter for WCMU.
