Central Michigan University announced it will postpone spring commencement until further notice due to coronavirus concerns.
President Bob Davies said in an email statement to students.
“This decision is to protect the health and well-being of you and your family, in accordance with state and national recommendations — but that doesn't mean it was an easy choice”
In a video statement, Davies said the university is working to find an alternative opportunity for spring grads to celebrate.
The university also announced online-only classes will extend through the end of the semester.
Other universities that postpone spring ceremonies include Michigan State University, Ferris State University, University of Michigan, and Saginaw Valley State University.
