The Head Coach of the Central Michigan University gymnastics program was put on administrative leave Wednesday pending an internal investigation.
Jerry Reighard has been the head coach of CMU’s gymnastics program since 1984, leading the university to sixteen first-place Mid-American Conference titles, the most in league history.
Officials with the CMU athletics department said they could not discuss details of the investigation but they say it is not related to the Larry Nassar case and does not involve sexual misconduct.
There is no official timeline for the investigation but Department officials say they expect to wrap up the investigation before the end of the semester.
Associate Head Coach Christine MacDonald will oversee the program during Reighard’s absence.
