SVSU breaking ground on business college

Saginaw Valley State University is breaking ground on an expansion to the schools business college.

The project involves the construction of a more than 38,000 square foot expansion.

The project costs 25 million dollars, 10 million of which is being covered by the state.

J.J. Boehm is the director of media relations at SVSU.

“We really want to modernize the education that we’re able to provide for our business students, and so the building expansion will have a bloomberg trading room, it will have a big data room, it will have rooms for focus groups and that kind of research.”

Boehm said the expansion will also have classrooms, business laboratories, and faculty offices.

The project is expected to be d open for classes in January of 2020.
