Midland Community Orchestra Concert

The Midland Community Orchestra will celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States in their free concert, Sunday April 26, 3:00 pm at Bullock Creek High School Auditorium. Under the baton of Gina Provenzano, the concert will feature a variety of Patriotic and American music. The concert will open with a full color guard, and collaborative numbers including the MCO Youth. Maestra Provenzano will conduct the MCO in the premier performance of “Symphony #1 in E Minor,” an adaptation of Florence Price’s first symphony, arranged by local musician Catherine McMichael. Featured soloists in the concert are Louis Huang, clarinet student of Maestra Provenzano, and Sarah Ryden, acting concert mistress. A reception will follow the concert, which is concerts are free and open to the public. This activity is supported in part by an award from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
