Another of the five defendants accused in a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has changed his plea to guilty.

Shawn Fix, 40, could face up to 20 years in prison for one count of attempting to provide material support for terrorism. He had previously pleaded not guilty.

Fix told 13th Circuit Court Judge Charles Hamlyn he helped plot leader Adam Fox find Gov. Whitmer’s vacation home in Elk Rapids.

Prosecutors, in exchange, dropped a second firearm charge which would have added a mandatory two-year consecutive sentence. Fix will also need to testify against the remaining defendants: Eric Molitor, Michael Null and William Null.

In March, Brian Higgins, 54, of Wisconsin, also took a guilty plea deal for a single charge of attempting to provide material support for an act of terrorism — a five-year felony.

Both he and Fix will be sentenced after the trial, which is set for August.
