Senate adopts anti-vaping bills over objections of tobacco foes

The Michigan Senate has unanimously approved bills to get tougher on retailers that sell vaping products to minors. Republicans and Democrats both support the measures.

But the bills are opposed by anti-tobacco organizations. Angela Clock is with Tobacco-Free Michigan. She says the same rules should apply to all nicotine products – including cigarettes, cigars, and vaping devices. 

Clock says anti-tobacco groups will work to have a single set of standards for nicotine products as the legislation works its way toward Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s desk.
