Plans have been announced as Governor-elect Gretchen Whitmer as sworn in as Michigan’s 49th Governor.

The official swearing in will take place outside the state Capitol building in Lansing at 10:30am, January 1.

The swearing-in ceremony will begin with a musical performance by the 126th Army Band of the National Guard and will include a flyover by the Michigan Air National Guard.

The Governor Elect and Lieutenant Governor Elect will also host a series of community “Whitmer Winter Warm up” events in the weeks following the inauguration.  Those will take place in Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, and Marquette.
