With the stroke of his pen, Illinois’ governor made his the 11th state to legalize recreational marijuana.

Starting January 1st, 2020, Illinois residents over 21 will be able to walk into an existing medical marijuana dispensary and purchase cannabis flower, edibles and cannabis concentrate products.

Michigan legalized marijuana for recreational use last December.   But state regulators are still hammering out how a retail market will work.

The Marijuana Regulatory Agency hopes to start accepting license applications in September, with sales beginning near the first of the year.
