Michigan motorists could soon see a bit more variety on their vehicles. The state may begin re-issuing some vintage license plates. Quinn Klinefelter has more.

The three registration plates replicate ones used during specific time frames.

That includes a red, white, and blue plate originally issued for the U.S. bi-centennial, and which would not be available until the nation’s next birthday in 2026.

There’s also a black plate previously used between 1979 and 1983, and an iconic blue one issued for about a quarter century after that.

Drivers could grab one for a fee or pay to renew an existing registration for a similar plate.
