Michigan Congressman John Moolenaar says he has no plans to make a run for Michigan’s open Senate seat in 2024.

In a statement from his office, the mid-Michigan Republican says he’s focused on his work in the House, representing constituents and working as a member of the Appropriations Committee on the new Select Committee on China.

Republicans who are considering a run for the vacancy left by Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow, who announced she won’t seek re-election last month, include former Congressman Peter Meijer, State Senator Ruth Johnson, and Congresswoman Lisa McClain. State Board of Education member Nikki Snyder has declared she will make a run for the seat.
