Governor Gretchen Whitmer says she has again tested negative for COVID-19 - a day after she announced her husband Marc had tested positive.

The First Gentleman’s infection comes amid a wave of Omicron variant cases in Michigan.

Governor Whitmer urged everyone to get inoculated from the disease.

“This new variant is so contagious, and boosters are keeping many Michiganders out of the hospital I'm thankful to for all the hospital teams that are taking care of people.”

After a brief dip, the number of COVID-related hospitalizations in rising to more than 42-hundred.

The state health department says, over the past two days, Michigan is averaging more than 13-thousand, six hundred new infections per day.
