Washtenaw County Commissioners are asking the state Legislature to repeal the 2019 auto no-fault insurance law.
The unanimously adopted resolution says the law is depriving thousands of severely injured residents in Washtenaw County and across the state of the care they need for basic survival.
That's because drastic reimbursement cuts in the law are driving care providers out of business, leaving car crash patients with no care.
The resolution says Republican leaders in the state House and Senate have failed to fix deficiencies in the law as they said they would do.
The leaders have not responded to a request for comment.
