Former Flint Mayor Dayne Walling spent a second day on the witness stand today in a civil trial related to the Flint water crisis.

The former mayor testified that while Flint was under an emergency manager there were things happening, that were not reaching his desk.

Walling testified in early 2015 the city had to issue a notice that its water system was in violation of the Safe Drinking Water act for high levels of a Chlorine by-product.

He testified that led to the hiring of Veolia North America as a consultant.

Veolia and another engineering firm also hired as consultants are being sued on behalf of four children exposed to Flint’s tainted tap water.

Walling is expected to spend part of Wednesday being crossed examined by defense attorneys.

The trial is expected to last another couple months.
