The number of COVID-19 patients is at a pandemic high in Michigan.
Over 45-hundred people are hospitalized – with nearly 90-percent of them unvaccinated.
Doctor Paolo Marciano is a Chief Medical Officer for Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn. He says hospitals are facing a multitude of issues, including burnout and exasperation at people who refuse to protect themselves from the virus.“Supply Chain disruptions it's very difficult to know what we're going to run out of today versus tomorrow but it is the burnout and frustration and exits of the typical healthcare worker which is just devastating,” said Marciano.
Hospitals across the state have again suspended non-emergency surgeries due to staff shortages and the influx of unvaccinated COVID patients requiring care.
