Grand Rapids police investigate recent overdoses

The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating a Wednesday morning overdose death involving multiple victims.

The 911 call was received about 5:30 A.M. Wednesday morning alerting Grand Rapids Police and Fire Departments that two people were unresponsive inside a parked car near Eastern Avenue SE and Franklin Street SE. First responders revived them and a third person, also unresponsive, located nearby in the 800 block of Geneva Avenue SE. All three are described as adult drug overdose victims transported to an area hospital. At 6:00 A.M., on-scene personnel were informed of a fourth unresponsive adult victim nearby. Officers responded attempting life-saving measures. The fourth victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
