The Biden Administration is sending additional resources to help battle skyrocketing cases of COVID-19 in Michigan.

The administration will NOT send any extra vaccine to the state.

Michigan has the highest number of new COVID-19 cases per capita in the nation.

The Biden Administration dispatched hundreds of federal workers to aid testing, treating and vaccinating residents and is ready to send more personnel.

But Governor Gretchen Whitmer says the administration denied her request to surge more doses of vaccine to Michigan.

“We are gonna continue to fight for additional vaccines," said Whitmer. "That is not a policy that they have embraced at this juncture.”

Whitmer’s asking Michigan high schools to pause in-person classes and sports for two weeks…and wants residents to avoid eating indoors at restaurants.

But the Governor says she will not officially order the actions.
