Grand Traverse County Commissioners did not punish Board Member Ron Clous Wednesday.

He faces calls to resign after he pulled out a gun while a constituent spoke at a virtual meeting last month.

The board considered a “resolution of censure” Wednesday that would have punished him.

That tied by a vote of three-to-three, with Clous abstaining and it failed.

Republican Penny Morris was a “no” vote.

“I believe the public already censured them. I’m gonna say no.”

A democrat on the board said now she wants to review the group’s code of ethics to prevent things like this in the future.
