Despite challenges by the Trump Administration and investigations by state Republicans, Michigan’s democratic electors have affirmed the selection of Joe Biden for President.

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, Michigan Democratic Party Chair Lavora Barnes made the announcement at the Capitol following a prompt from Garlin Gilchrist.
“Has the tally been completed? Yes, Lieutenant Governor. The electors have unanimously cast 16 votes for Joseph R. Biden.”
Outside the Capitol, Republican insurgents tried to get into the Capitol building, but were stopped by police.
The events at the Capitol were closed to the public, following a specific threat of violence.
