Michigan’s junior Democratic Senator Gary Peters has won reelection to the Senate — eking victory out of a razor thin margin.

Peters defeated Republican challenger John James, in James' second bid for the senate.

After being outraised by James several times and spending massive amounts of money in the final months, Peters’ came out on top winning roughly 50 percent of the vote to James’ 49 percent.

Peters underperformed former Vice President Joe Biden in several key Michigan counties, and James overperformed President Donald Trump—making the race especially close. Peters will give a victory speech at 11 am Thursday, but John James has not yet conceded.
