Detroit freeway closing this week

Commuters could face a rougher ride this week on one of Metro Detroit’s busiest freeways.

Transportation officials say they will close the left lane of I-94 in both directions from I-96 to the Lodge freeway for one week.

Officials say several road projects are scheduled along I-94.

They include work on a railroad bridge near Livernois, a bridge on 24th Street, and removing concrete from areas around Warren Avenue.

The work is contingent on the weather conditions – bad weather has already forced delays in the project.
