A Michigan Department of Transportation inspection found that a new section of I-75 had bad concrete.

The mistake is costly one for the contractor.

Digging up and re-pouring the concrete will cost the contractor half a million dollars. MDOT Spokesperson Rob Morosi says the problem isn’t a big setback…

“We’re still anticipating being done with this section in Troy – with all the paving, the new ramps, the new bridges – everything by the end of 20-20. And we don’t anticipate this delaying this project significantly at all”

Morosi says good concrete is expected to last 25 to 30 years –  but the bad concrete would not have lasted anywhere near that long.
