The Michigan Launch Alliance might put a rocket launchpad up North.

“Michigan is a logical choice due to its Northern Latitude.”

That’s Sean McDaniels, CEO of Traverse City-based Atlas Space Operations.  A launchsite was the main topic at the Michigan Aerospace Manufacturers Association conference.

It took place in Traverse City this week. Hundreds of aerospace engineers, NASA reps and government officials want to boost the industry in Michigan. McDaniels says we’ll know in about six months if Northern Michigan is chosen for the launchpad.
