A pair of Michigan cities come in near the bottom of a new ranking of America’s Best Run Cities.

Flint and Detroit are both in the bottom 10 of Wallet Hub’s ranking of 150 of the nation’s largest cities.

The Personal Finance website gives both cities low marks for financial stability and other issues.

A city of Detroit spokesman takes issue with the report, contending Michigan’s largest city has seen big improvements in the past five years.

Wallet Hub Analyst Jill Gonzalez says that’s not the point.

“If we were comparing this to ten years ago, I’m sure that we would see great improvement.   Unfortunately this is just looking at recent data and comparing it to other cities in the U-S. “

Grand Rapids and Warren both rank in the top 40 Best Run Cities in the survey.
