Police are trying to find the person who fired a shot into a window of a Lansing branch of the Secretary of State Monday. It's the office on East Michigan Avenue by the Frandor Shopping Center where people obtain driver’s licenses and registration.

Police say no one was injured. Lansing Police Lieutenant Rob Backus says officers responded to a report of shots fired just before 11 AM.

“When we arrived we didn’t find any of the intended targets or any suspects. We had a number of witnesses who said that the one shot entered through the window from the outside and one round was recovered from the inside of the building.”

No arrests have been made but Lieutenant Backus says he does not believe there is an active threat to the public.
